Creating a custom domain name is very useful in creating your brand's identity. It's simple to set up on Blomming, though you will need to follow a few technical steps to complete the procedure. Or, you can contact your internet provider, tech consultant or webmaster to request help (more info below).
From the Sales Channels > Online shop > Domain section, you can set a custom URL for your Blomming shop. When you opened your shop, Blomming automatically assigned you a third-level domain (e.g. test.storeden.com).
You can keep using the domain that was assigned to you, though we recommend associating a second-level domain to the shop (e.g.: www.my-shop.com). Remember that you have to enter a domain name that you already own or wish to purchase from an internet registrar.
From this section, you can
- associate a domain name you already own;
- buy a domain within the platform.
To associate a domain you already own, click the 'Do you want to associate your domain?' link and enter it in the field that appears, then click 'Save'.
Note: if the DNS of your domain hasn't already been configured, your shop will not be accessible.
By clicking 'Save', the domain will be associated to your shop. If the system is unable to properly validate the DNS configuration, an error message will appear. You can then choose to assign it anyway and configure the DNS later.
To properly configure your DNS, you need to open the DNS manager of the provider of your domain and point record A to the IP 185.241.64.248 for the CNAME to egress.storeden.com
Below are a few configuration guides for the most popular domain providers:
Note: we recommend setting the TTL (time to live) between 1 hour and 1 day.
If you don't own a domain yet and you want to buy one from Storeden, click here and follow the instructions in the guide.
